About Barcelona

Located on the beautiful shores of the Mediterranean sea, Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia and the second largest city in Spain. There are two legends about how Barcelona was founded. The first one tells that the Romans founded the city in the 1st century BC, and the second that it was founded by Carthaginian military leader Hamilcar Barca (father of the famous Hannibal). Whichever of these legends is right, one thing is certain – Barcelona is hard to describe, it must be experienced.

You can say that Barcelona has a little bit of everything for everyone. It is a city rich with amazing history (the Barri Gothic dates back to Roman times), architecture (Gaudi is everywhere), unique food (Catalan), and a wild nightlife.

1. La Sagrada Familia church – Spain’s most visited sight – and it isn’t even finished! Some say that the part of the attraction 😉
2. La Rambla – Barcelona’s most famous walking street. Just soak up the atmosphere and admire the buildings
3. Admire Catalonia’s artistic heritage in the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC)
4. Museu Picasso – Enjoy the artistic masterpieces from one of the most famous artists in history
5. Park Güell, La Pedrera are just a few more architectural beauties from Antonio Gaudi
6. All soccer fans can’t miss the chance to visit the magnificent Camp Nou, the largest stadium in the world and the home to one of the biggest clubs, FC Barcelona
7. Take a nice walk down one of many Barcelona beaches and enjoy the Mediterranean sun down
