In the new version of ApexSQL Monitor, 2016 R1 we added eleven new features and improvements
SQL Server 2016 CTP3 support
ApexSQL Monitor 2016 R1 fully supports SQL Server 2016 CTP3 which can be monitored and used for hosting the central repository database.
SQL Server failover cluster support
In the new release, failover cluster support has been added. This allows monitoring of all failover cluster nodes quickly and easily.
Baseline calculation for individual metrics
This feature is designed to allow calculating baselines for individual metrics available for monitored SQL Server instance. Metrics for which baselines will be calculated can be selected individually or even multiple metrics can be selected for the chosen time range.
Blocking queries
In this version of ApexSQL Monitor we introduces blocking queries feature which represents ability to identify queries which are blocked to execute by another queries.
Query waits alerting
It’s now possible to get alerts for query waits based on predefined threshold.
SQL Server agent status monitoring
It’s now possible to monitor SQL Server agent status and get alerted whenever the SQL Server agent is down.
Helpful tips
This feature represents message box with critical information, tips and suggestions for helping DBA to understand and analyze performance issues.
Improved Server overview screen
Server overview screen is now improved to show additional information like today’s server availability.
Improved charts layout and look
Charts view now has easier navigation and better responsiveness.
