ApexSQL Monitor 2014 R3 is the next planned release of our SQL Server monitoring tool. While it will be faster, more reliable and user friendly than the current version, the major improvements in R3 will be additional features including new metrics, email alerting, server grouping, reports, and a customizable layout.

Chart lines can be turned on or off
To provide better graph legibility, we’ve added the ability to customize measurements. This can significantly improve legibility with more than one measurements and/or with high frequency. Turning the chart measurement on/off can be accomplished by a simple click on the measurement name

About ApexSQL Monitor: ApexSQL Monitor is a Windows and SQL Server monitoring tool with a wide range of monitored metrics. It tracks Windows, SQL Server instance, and database metrics on multiple local and remote machines and SQL Server instances. It monitors the most important SQL Server statistics, memory, buffer, and page metrics – batch requests per second, user connections, target and total server memory, buffer cache hit ratio, batch requests, page life expectancy, page reads and writes per second, and more. Monitoring these metrics enables you to identify and troubleshoot performance problems, establish trends, and set baselines.

It will be more reliable, and easier to use than the current version, but the major improvements are query execution time analysis, additional metrics, email alerts, reports, and customizable layout. Our customers have been asking for query execution time and email alerting in ApexSQL Monitor on multiple occasions, and we’re very excited to announce both in the upcoming release expected in September 2014.
