We’ve posted a new roadmap covering the next 2 major releases of ApexSQL Log (2015 and 2016) including the following new features/changes
Eliminated need for extended stored procedures, server side components
This has been a big request from many erstwhile users of ApexSQL Log for years. I’d love to use the product but I can’t install anything on my SQL Server. Now you can because now you don’t have to.
With ApexSQL 2015, you will be able to audit remote SQL Servers without any requirement for installing anything on the SQL Server itself e.g. SQL Server extended stored procedures.
Before/After reports
Before and after is a big auditing requirement driven by internal need for diagnostics, and regulatory requirements like HIPAA alike. We’ll be adding reports and exports to complement extend the core before and after capabilities, ApexSQL Log offers.
Large file editor
Many SQL Server applications generate SQL scripts that can’t be executed via SSMS or any other editor simply by virtue of their huge size. With ApexSQL Log 2015 you will be able to handle even the biggest scripts. Note that this is a feature that will be rolled out to all ApexSQL Apps
