ApexSQL Doc 2014 R2 will be the next major release this year. Some of the most noticeable and outstanding improvements will be a full support for documenting Azure databases, a new output format – PDF, a fully redesigned more user friendly Doc/DocX document, and noticeable performance improvements. This next version of ApexSQL Doc will also introduce a new concept in the form of the separation of functionalities on Community, Developer and Pro editions.
Support for documenting Azure databases
Microsoft’s Azure cloud based platform will be fully supported in ApexSQL Doc 2014 R2. The connection is established as with a regular SQL Server with no difference at all in the documenting process.
New and redesigned output formats
We will make a revision of the output formats section and introduce a new feature for documenting databases. ApexSQL Doc 2014 R2 will have a full support for documenting databases to pdf format. Other documenting formats have been redesigned including HTML, chm, doc and docx formats.
Redesigned Doc/DocX document
The metro UI style is also applied to our generated documentation which got a full redesign. The documentation now has a table of content, cover page, improved readability and usability and noticeable performance improvements.
