What have you been working on?
- First we’ve published ApexSQL Script 2014 R2 maintenance release with fixed bugs.
- We’ve created mockups for ApexSQL Generate and the UI, and then we’ve started the process of implementing the functionality.
- Currently, this tool is on static test for its first release.
When will this product be released?
- ApexSQL Generate is planned to be released in the first half of March
What have been some design and technical challenges you have encountered?
- The biggest challenge about the design was to figure out how to maintain smooth relation between nice and user-friendly UI, and usability and quality.
- We’ve been working on optimization when it comes to generating large amount of test data since our focus for the next release is to have a tool with top level performance and quality.

- ApexSQL Build and ApexSQL Script
What is planned for ApexSQL Build in the coming months?
- SQL Azure support implementation
- Support for new source control systems: Mercurial, Perforce, and hosted Team Foundation Server Version Control
- New FREE Community version will be available along with quality and usability improvements.
- The next release of this tool is planned around end of April
